Teri L. Busse is an award-winning author, that also writes under pen name T. L. Everheart is a psychology student, former paramedic, and advocate for resilience. Her work explores grief, recovery, personal growth, and the realities of rebuilding a life after unimaginable loss.

Her books include the International Impact Book Award-winning When Getting Out of Bed Is the Hardest Part, the true crime memoir 13 Days of Silence: The Murder of Rylee James, and several guides for authors navigating the publishing world.

Drawing from her experiences as a widow, mother, first responder, and person in long-term recovery, Teri writes with honesty, compassion, and the belief that healing is possible, even when the path forward isn't clear.

She is the founder of Rooted in Resilience™ and regularly speaks about grief, recovery, mental health, and finding purpose beyond survival.

 Teri L. Busse is an award-winning author, speaker, screenwriter, and psychology student who also writes under the pen name T.L. Everheart. A former paramedic and corrections officer, she writes about grief, trauma, recovery, resilience, true crime, and the complexities of the human experience. 

Her work ranges from nonfiction guides and memoirs to children's books and fiction, all rooted in the belief that even life's hardest chapters can become part of a larger story of resilience. Through her writing, Teri hopes readers feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.

Her work has earned international recognition, including the International Impact Book Award in Psychology, Grief & Bereavement for When Getting Out Of Bed Is The Hardest Part,  and an Author of the Year nomination for 13 Days of Silence

She lives in Colorado with her family and continues to write, learn, and build a life centered on purpose, hope, and honest conversation.
